DEFINITION OF COMMERCE

Commerce is concerned with the change of ownership of goods from the time they leave the producer till they reach the consumer. It comprises the trading of something of economic value such as goods, services, information or money between two or more entities, Commerce as such is the driving force behind the process of exchange.

Commerce is situated between producers (who make goods) and consumers (who buy goods). So, we can say that Commerce consists of the businesses that exist between the producers and consumers. The position of Commerce can be shown in a simple diagram.
