One of the biggest issues I often encounter is that people forget that we are all still people, living in a community and needing to get some of our items from nearby merchants and not just an online behemoth or retail chain. And many of these items are often not even thought about when we go shopping for our daily needs because our “Prime” membership is so much easier to simply hit “add to cart” and get it shipped here tomorrow.
Are you familiar with the Pareto principle? That’s the idea that 80% of what you do produces 20% of what you get or vice versa – 20% of what you do produces 80% of what you get.
Why is this important as we look at business? Because in business, when you focus in on the five key areas in your business that drive revenue, you quickly realize that a lot of what you do otherwise only accounts for 20% of your overall revenue and so it can be delegated to another member of your team.
