Eda Observes
Chapter 2: Crossing the Threshold
Eda's journey led her into the heart of the camp's surroundings. Armed with curiosity, she observed the way sunlight kissed the ground, the patterns of wind that swept through, and the cycles of life that unfolded around her. She watched as plants struggled to grow in the arid soil and realized that there was more to discover.
One morning, Eda encountered an elder named Mali. He was very old and wise in the old ways. He remembered a time from long long ago before the droughts consumed the land.
As they sat in the shade together Mali told stories of his past when he was a young boy and of the people who had come before him.
Mali's stories painted a picture of how the land had once been rich and abundant. Eda's determination grew stronger, and she decided to unlock the secrets of permaculture, and the power she sensed was dormant within her.
