The Honest Approach

I get a lot of people approaching me with offers online every day. 
 

Because I'm in the marketing space the offers are most often directed towards educating me in their methods of marketing. 
 

Many of them begin by saying they have looked at my profile on Facebook and think I would be a good fit for their offer. 

The problem is they are not being honest and it's hurting their business. 
I get it. It's not their fault. 

I know they are using a mass marketing technique that requires them to begin with a little white lie and it's something being taught in modern marketing today. 
 

It's a harmless thing, they think but they are wrong and I'll tell you why. 
At least one of you knows you started the relationship with a lie. 

Starting with the truth takes the relationship in an entirely different direction. When you begin with honesty your prospect is going to find it easier to get to know, like, and trust you. 
Don't you think? 
 

Instead of saying something like 
"Just reaching out as I was reviewing your profile and thought you’d be the ideal person …..”

Why not begin with: 

“Thanks for accepting my offer of friendship.” I hope we can actually get to know each other and become real friends.

In truth, I'm looking for some help.
