DJ Swain is known as one of the most revered leading authority of music in the US Virgin Islands.
He has been a deejay for over 20 years. Born and raised in St. Croix, VI, Swain developed a love of music at an early age.
He grew up listening to reggae, calypso, and soca, which began his fascination with music.
As hip-hop began to integrate into the Caribbean culture, a rap group by the named the Sugar Hill Gang caught his attention. This began his fascination for Hip-Hop and cutting-edge mix CDs.
Knowing it was his mission to make heads bob to his “Underground Sounds” he began doing mixed-tapes.
He then gained a following DJing at local High School proms and graduations which became his training ground for his expert mixing.
This led to more opportunities such as deejaying on numerous local radio stations, as well as hosting and emceeing countless island events.
DJ Swain is a two-time winner of the USVI “DJ of The Year Award” as voted by readers of the Daily News.
DJ Swain is a businessman and a music historian with work ethics that is conducive to his passion for the preservation of good music.
Like his approach to deejaying, DJ Swain’s approach to producing good mixes is unbound by genre.
Known as the “The People’s DJ” he continues to wow his followers with flawless turntable skills, innovative production, and musical versatility.
DJ Swain is currently the C.E.O of his own studio, label, and promotions known as DJ Swain Productions. DJ Swain will continue to reign supreme due to his longevity through his integrity.
