ENDOMETRIOSIS

A condition of the genitourinary and endocrine systems in which endometrial tissue (uterine tissue) grows outside of the uterus.

The exact cause is not known and the incidence of endometriosis is increased with delayed pregnancy.

SYMPTOMS ARE SIMILAR TO THOSE OF DYSMENORRHOEA OTHER SYMPTOMS MAY INCLUDE:

• premenstrual spotting and infertility.
