Live TV Interview, SKY TV, Suriname 2014

Who Am I?

"Every person who seeks professional help tells a story of an illness as they have lived, experienced and remember, and so it varies. A doctor must listen and offer a solution, and not a prescription"

Pre-printed assessment sheet, (1996)

I am an author, doctor, creator of Dr Maya, who trained and helped junior doctors, medical students and nurses conquer fear of diagnosis and management of infections for more than forty years.

In 2003,  I was asked to teach nurses how to diagnose common infections and prescribe antibiotics; I thought this was a bad idea, because I have been warning about the threat of superbugs since 1989.

Medical diagnostic errors committed by doctors is the 3rd common cause of death in the USA. Allowing nurses to prescribe will result in a major threat to medical profession and our very existence.
