About MD's
As avid cigar smokers ourselves, we like to do work and hang out in cigar bars. We would spend a lot of hours sitting there smoking a good stick and working on my laptop, but we noticed that we didn't like the hours for cigar shops or bars and didn't always enjoy the presence of the patrons who came into the shop. To us a part of a cigar environment is to also network and socialize, and sometimes we didn't feel like the environment was conducive to that.
After many complaints by the founder to cigar shop owners and hearing from other customers the same complaints, we decided to start working on opening a Private Member's only Cigar Lounge that would give us the freedom to work, play, and smoke without the limitations of a public place and cigar shop hours. Also we wanted members to feel like it was their place and only their peers could afford the perks of this lounge.
One additional factor, as a small business owner, Deon wanted to take advantage of more tax write-offs, so he wanted to pass that benefit to his members, so created the lounge as a non-profit, meaning all donations, and gifts are tax deductible.
