YOUR CAR
For the majority of people, running a car is the next biggest expense to buying a home.
The M.O.T (Ministry of Transport Test Certificate) does not apply to all vehicles. If you are fortunate and can afford to buy a brand-new vehicle the manufacturer’s warranty will cover you for the first three years.
Once your vehicle is over three years old you will need to get a MOT. Your vehicle will be tested to the highest standard and if it passes your vehicle will be judged to be of the legal standard for the next twelve months.
TYRES
It will pay you to shop around, you can get some very good deals providing you can wait. One important thing that you must remember is that each illegal tyre on your car will cost you three points and a hefty fine. If you get six points or more in your first two years, you will need to retake both theory and practical tests again.
