The Academy Director, Debra L Moore has over 20 years experience in the education space. She has mastered Special Education, Science, and Math. She has impacted her former students’ lives to the degree that she still gets almost daily phone calls and social media hits. She is a creative, talented professional with all child clearances who loves teaching children, and broadening their educational experiences.

Helping Educate You (H.E.Y.) is Here LLC, is a community-based program that started in 2012 (initially as a  tutoring program for students who needed support in Mathematics). Parents who knew that the  founder, Debra Moore, was a Mathematics teacher, reached out to her for support for their  children who were struggling with Mathematics. When Debra saw how successful the  service was to the students receiving tutoring, she decided to register the program as a Limited  Liability Corporation in 2014, in order to reach more students in the community seeking to  improve their Mathematics and Reading skills.  

The brainchild for H.E.Y. is Here, LLC, is the tutoring service that Debra provided at the Deliverance Missions for Christ Church where she was the Director  of the After School Tutoring Program for the Tough Enough Program. This was a free program  offered to the students who were struggling with academics and the services were rendered  without remuneration of any kind.

H.E.Y. is Here LLC, is in the Community Center at the Jesus First Church where it  serves students in an urban setting, with some students struggling with Mathematics and  Reading. The goal of the program is to identify students in various schools within the  community who need additional support in improving their Mathematics and Reading Skills.  

One of her success stories comes from one of the students--who after receiving tutoring became  successful in the Scholastic Aptitude Test and was subsequently accepted to college based on his  scores--graduated from college in 2015. Because of that story, Debra would like to fully invest her time and energy in having more successful students in Mathematics and Reading,  which will undoubtedly improve their skills in other subjects. Through forging strategic partnerships, we will also offer technology instruction and assistance. The program will serve as a nurturing and  educational developmental opportunity to these students who would not have otherwise  benefitted from such programs as H.E.Y. is Here LLC.
