Joining the Ship

Your first day onboard will follow the steps below. The terminology and description may vary depending on location and ship.

1-Report to the Crew Office team in the terminal to complete the necessary paperwork and collect a temporary pass.

2-Head through security and follow "Crew" signs to embark on the ship.

3-If you have not already been met by your Supervisor, the Crew Office will contact them for you.

4-Your Supervisor (or experienced member of your team) will show you where your cabin is and place of work, uniform.

5-Your Supervisor will explain any emergency duty. Ensure that you fully understand this and ask any questions you may have.

6-On your first day, you will have to attend a compulsory safety induction ship tour (Familiarisation); Your Supervisor will provide you with more details about this.

7-Your Supervisor will explain any other duties that you may have during your first day and will be your main point of contact throughout your contract.

We appreciate that it may take time for you to adjust to your new role on board and to the routine of ship life. Your Supervisor, along with experienced staff, will ensure that you are inducted into the department and know what is expected of you.
